SingUp4 Scotland
My name is Johnny Collington and through my love of playing the guitar and singing, I perform at Care/Respite Homes and Day Care Centres, across Edinburgh and the M8 corridor. My song list is Scottish, Irish and Country songs and I invite everyone to join in.
My Dad was diagnosed with dementia when he was 96 and what was amazing was how the music and singing old songs, connected us, right through to his final days.
I’ll be performing at the Fringe in 2026, with my SING-A-LONG Scotland show.
How did I get started?
From initially just singing with my Dad, I began sharing our sessions with other residents and these quickly turned into social events where all the other residents joined in. It was fantastic to see their joy and personal connections to the music and songs.
I decided to take this further and now play at a variety of other Care/Respite Homes and Day Care Centres across Edinburgh and North Lanarkshire, singing songs from my song book of over 60 songs, which my audience members have added to. My show typically lasts 60 minutes and audience participation is welcomed.

If you work or volunteer for a Care/Respite Home or Day Care Centre in Edinburgh or the M8 corridor and would like to talk with me about the possibility of organising a show for your residents/clients, then send me an email at johnny@singup4.com Please note, I do not charge to play and my time is subject to availability.
I can also support Burns Suppers by performing some of the Bard’s best-known songs, with the aim of encouraging audience participation. I also support St Andrew Day events by performing a Scottish set list.
I enjoy bringing people together for a fun session of music and singing. I love it!
Burns Suppers and St Andrews Celebrations
Thinking of adding something a wee bit different to your traditional Burns Supper?
How about introducing your guests to a sing-a-long version of ‘Green Grow the Rashes’, or singing all 5 verses of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ or sitting back and enjoying ‘Ae Fond Kiss’. Singing along to some of the Bard’s greatest songs will enhance any typical Burns Supper and the usual toasts.
Are you looking to arrange a St Andrews lunch or dinner celebration? I can come along and perform a short set showcasing some of the classics from Scotland, such as ‘Loch Lomond’, ‘Caledonia’, ‘Scotland the Brave’, ‘500 Miles’, to name but a few.
Get in touch to discuss your ideas and where I can help you make your Burns and/or St Andrews event even better.

The residents absolutely loved your performance, and I am happy to have you back.”
Thank you very much (once again) for your time and efforts on Wednesday – there was such a lovely buzz with the group.”
